Retailers report higher activity on PlayStation storefronts and steady demand at online and physical stores, increasing the share of confirmed orders attributed to the PS5 version.

Retailers and industry observers point to several factors behind the pattern. A larger installed base of PlayStation consoles and customer familiarity with prior Grand Theft Auto releases on PlayStation correlate with stronger PS5 reservations. Promotional activity on PlayStation Network has coincided with elevated digital sign-ups. In some regions, limited retail stock and staggered shipment windows for physical copies have influenced where buyers place orders.

Digital pre-orders on the PlayStation storefront have been particularly prominent. Xbox Series X|S pre-orders continue to register meaningful demand, with a noticeable portion coming from players focused on Xbox Game Pass integration and cross-platform features. Retailers report that the ratio of digital to physical pre-orders varies by region.

Rockstar Games and publisher Take-Two Interactive are preparing marketing campaigns and pre-order incentives ahead of the game’s release window. Official statements from the developer and publisher have reiterated platform support; independent trackers and stores supply the platform share figures cited by retailers.

Grand Theft Auto is owned by Take-Two Interactive, and past entries in the series have driven strong console sales. Retailers and platform holders are monitoring pre-order trends as indicators of potential launch-week demand and early audience distribution.

Pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto VI on PlayStation 5 have grown faster than Xbox Series X|S, expanding PS5’s share across
