The winner will receive the Champion of Champions title, a trip to the 2027 Pokémon World Championships, and a charitable donation to the organisation of their choice. Coaching from former Pokémon champion Ray Rizzo is part of the prize package.

Organisers say the event is intended as a novelty that brings people from other competitive fields into Pokémon battling. The contest will be broadcast live on the official Pokémon Twitch channel.

Participants were chosen for titles outside esports. Named entrants include Aina Ziordia Botella, a whistling champion from Spain, and Leandro Silva, a pillow‑fighting champion from the United States. Each invited competitor will receive coaching from Ray Rizzo in the weeks before the event to prepare teams and match strategies.

The format offers a pathway for a non‑traditional competitor to earn a place at the 2027 World Championships. Organisers describe the tournament as both an entertainment event and a charitable opportunity, with the donation awarded to a beneficiary selected by the winner.

Pokémon Champions launched on mobile devices earlier this year and has expanded the franchise’s competitive offerings and player base.
