Clash Royale’s Season 85, titled ‘Honor & Exile’, launched in July 2026. The update adds a new Legendary troop, a new Choice Chest reward format, and multiple balance adjustments to heroes, troops and evolutions.<\/p>
Ronin is a melee-focused Legendary who reflects incoming close-range attacks back at attackers, dealing more damage than he receives. Ronin can be unlocked during Season 85 through the Road to Ronin event, the upgraded Pass Royale and Album Event rewards. Ronin cards will begin appearing in normal chest drops after the July season ends.<\/p>
Choice Chests let players select from multiple reward options instead of receiving a fixed set. They come in several star rarities; lower tiers prioritize common, rare and epic cards plus gold, gems and cosmetics, while the 4- and 5-star variants can contain cards of all rarities, Wild Cards, Evolution Shards, gems and tower skins. Players receive their first Choice Chest through Daily Battle Rewards. The feature is scheduled only for Season 85 at launch.<\/p>
Season 85 keeps the two-track Pass Royale structure. The Free Pass provides basic progression rewards and the Diamond Pass unlocks premium cosmetics, seasonal items and access to Ronin for players who reach Arena 15. The Diamond Pass tower skin is Sage Echo Monk and the Album Event includes a Ronin Temple tower skin. New Ronin-themed emotes appear across Ranked, Crown Chase, Pass Royale and seasonal events. Mega Knight, P.E.K.K.A, Boss Bandit and Prince are the season\u2019s boosted cards.<\/p>
Balance changes in July 2026 include several nerfs. Hero Balloon’s summoned Skeletrooper damage was reduced from 256 to 204 and its attack speed was slowed from 0.9s to 1.1s. Hero Goblins’ deploy time increased from 1.0s to 1.3s. Hero Knight’s shield hitpoints were lowered from 768 to 512. Hero Magic Archer saw dummy hitpoints drop from 627 to 271, teleport range cut from 5 tiles to 3.5 tiles and triple-shot range reduced from 15.5 tiles to 13.5 tiles. The Evolved Executioner had its close-quarters damage reduced from 268 to 240 and its close-range reduced from 3.5 tiles to 2.5 tiles. Miner\u2019s Crown Tower damage was lowered from 48 to 39.<\/p>
Buffs and reworks include a Hero Tombstone rework: ability cost lowered from 6 to 5 elixir, continuous Skeleton spawning removed and hitpoints raised from 3,379 to 4,044. Baby Dragon’s damage increased from 161 to 168. Electro Giant’s hitpoints rose from 3,855 to 3,952. P.E.K.K.A’s damage increased from 816 to 842. Ram Rider’s hitpoints increased from 1,697 to 1,766.<\/p>
