Slavic Magic moved four months of beta overhauls into Manor Lords’ live build with update seven, addressing degraded pathfinding, character locomotion and task management after pausing some planned content and a trade rework to focus on core systems.<\/p>
The developer released update seven to the game’s main branch this week. The overhaul reworks the pathfinding engine to reduce route-search inefficiencies and adds an “island” check to reject impossible routes, such as attempts to cross riverbanks without a bridge. Character locomotion and collision code were refactored to reduce bumping into objects. Squad-move commands retain the previous behavior when players hold the Alt key while issuing orders.<\/p>
Worker behavior and task assignment were adjusted so units respond more directly to jobs that need doing; idle units will now perform tidy-up tasks such as returning handcarts to sheds. The update also expands church boundaries in preparation for future upgrades, enlarges quarries to prevent clipping when placed side by side, and makes quality-of-life fixes including preventing level-one families from consuming ale and changing homelessness rules so families only lose homes if a building actually burns down.<\/p>
Some temporary selection fixes allow selection of buildings that fall inside the Manor area until town wall mechanics are completed. The full patch notes include hundreds of entries covering bug fixes, balance changes and minor improvements identified during the beta tests.<\/p>
In a post, lead developer Greg Stycze\u0144 wrote, “I wish, more than anyone, that progress on content was quicker, but we’re doing everything we can, and I truly think that the team can’t grow any larger without introducing risk.” He added that the game’s large audience makes even obscure bugs disruptive to playthroughs and thanked the community for recent support and kind messages.<\/p>
