The developer said the initial Classic release will not feature any non\u2011Summoner&#8217;s Rift modes and will focus on recreating the Season 3 Summoner&#8217;s Rift experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">LoL Classic Game Director Brian &#8220;FeralPony&#8221; Feeney responded to a player question, writing, <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We don&#8217;t have any non\u2011Summoner&#8217;s Rift modes currently. It&#8217;s highly likely we&#8217;ll bring in additional modes over time.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Feeney clarified that limited\u2011time modes created after the Classic era, such as Odyssey: Extraction, are outside the Classic scope: &#8220;Odyssey is cool, but [definitely] not Classic. You&#8217;d want the modes team \/ crew for something like that.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">League of Legends Classic is designed to recreate the Season 3 environment, using a champion roster drawn from 2009 to 2013 and game systems from that period. Twisted Treeline was first introduced in 2009, which placed it inside the Classic timeline and led some players to expect its return. Riot has decided the initial Classic experience will be limited to the five\u2011on\u2011five Summoner&#8217;s Rift map.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Twisted Treeline was a smaller three\u2011lane map that supported 3v3 matches and a different pace from Summoner&#8217;s Rift. Dominion, described by the developer as a 5v5 counterpart, will also be excluded from the Classic launch. Riot did not provide a timeline for when or if either mode might be added to Classic later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Current <a href=\"https:\/\/goranked.gg\/en\/league-of-legends\/accounts\" rel=\"follow\">League of Legends accounts<\/a> seeking different match types can use alternative modes such as ARAM Mayhem and Arena for players. Feeney indicated that a dedicated modes team would handle non\u2011Rift experiences, separating that work from the Classic project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For now, Classic\u2019s launch will concentrate on delivering an authentic Season 3 Summoner&#8217;s Rift experience, with the possibility that additional modes could be introduced during the product\u2019s lifecycle.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Riot Games confirmed Twisted Treeline and Dominion will not launch with League of Legends Classic;
