She acquired the console with the stated goal of accessing the latest Grand Theft Auto title when it is released.

Family members assisted with the installation, including connecting the console to a television, creating a user profile, downloading system updates, and signing into an online account. She is learning the game’s controls and plans to play both alone and with family in multiplayer sessions.

The setup required downloading updates and navigating the platform storefront to access the game and related services. She is exploring the console’s accessibility settings to simplify controls and adjust display options.

The Xbox Series X is Microsoft’s current-generation flagship console. It supports higher-resolution graphics and faster load times that developers use to build larger open-world games. Players with older consoles may need a current-generation system to run new titles at intended performance levels.

Retail availability and price affected the purchase decision. The Series X is positioned as a premium model; buyers often consider performance, game library and price when choosing hardware.

Industry analysts and consumer research have reported a broader demographic profile among game buyers. Console makers now include onboarding and accessibility features to help owners new to modern platforms. Support guides and community resources offer setup tips and platform-specific advice.

The family plans to start playing the title together once it becomes available.

A 78-year-old grandmother bought an Xbox Series X to play Grand Theft Auto VI.
