The Criminal Profile links behavior to identifying information such as clothing, the vehicle in use, whether there are passengers and the specific crime reported. Police will respond only after witnesses report an incident; crimes do not automatically trigger law enforcement.<\/p>
Players can reduce or remove their wanted level by laying low and switching vehicles, though changing cars may not be enough if clothing or other identifiers keep them connected to a profile. The system tracks patterns of escalation, including repeated aggression or excessive force, which push a profile toward a higher risk classification.<\/p>
The profile distinguishes defensive actions from offensive ones. Attacking unarmed civilians will worsen a profile more than defending against attacks from gang members or other aggressors, so some self-defence actions will have a smaller effect on a player’s record.<\/p>
In-game police radio chatter will reflect the added detail, with officers relaying clothing descriptions, vehicle models, possible passengers and the reported crime. Rockstar describes the system as building on surveillance and reputation mechanics used in Red Dead Redemption 2 and adapting them for a modern urban setting.<\/p>
The Criminal Profile creates a longer record of player conduct that can influence how non-player characters and law enforcement treat a character over time.
