The restoration will include older campaigns, raids and destinations that were previously vaulted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Vaulting has been part of Destiny 2&#8217;s content management for several years, originally used to keep the game&#8217;s total file size lower. Bungie noted that much of the vaulted material comes from older builds that use different gameplay mechanics and graphical elements, so bringing that content back will require reworking assets and code.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The studio said the unvaulting process will take time and that it will provide more details and timelines in the months ahead. The announcement did not confirm whether new expansion packs for Destiny 2 will arrive or whether a full sequel such as Destiny 3 is planned, but the language left both possibilities open.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Players responded with mixed reactions. Some community members welcomed the clarification and the prospect of regaining access to classic activities and storylines. Others raised questions about how long the restoration will take and how older content will be updated to match current systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bungie identified technical challenges including reconciling older gameplay mechanics with the present engine and updating graphical assets.
