Iceflake Studios plans to release Park Adventures for Cities: Skylines 2 in the fourth quarter of 2026. The expansion will add amusement parks, zoos, city parks and nature reserves. A redesigned leisure system and other updates will be added to the base game for all players, including those who do not buy the DLC.<\/p>
Players will be able to combine buildings, facilities and rides within one park. The game will not assign a site to a single park category. Its identity will develop based on the features players select and how they expand the location.<\/p>
The leisure rework will change how citizens choose and use destinations. Under the current system, a citizen selects an activity and usually travels to the nearest suitable location. After making that choice, the citizen rarely changes plans.<\/p>
The revised system will still consider distance, while adding crowd levels, destination quality and facility condition. A citizen could choose a farther park if a closer one is crowded. During a visit, the citizen will consider the distance to attractions, queue lengths and the availability of similar facilities. Changes to those conditions could lead to new plans.<\/p>
Iceflake tested a system in which visitors had personal preferences for excitement, socializing and relaxation. The studio dropped the idea after finding that visitors with narrow preferences could become dissatisfied when a park lacked a specific feature. The system also required more management and gave greater weight to adults, who typically account for 60% to 70% of a city\u2019s population.<\/p>
The revised design will assess the park as a whole while allowing visitors to make individual choices inside it. Restaurants will operate more like attractions, while amenities will meet secondary needs during a visit. These factors can affect a location\u2019s rating and the feedback shown to the player.<\/p>
The update will make more of citizens\u2019 daily activities visible. Visitors will stop, interact with objects and spend time in public spaces. In Park Adventures, players will see people queue for attractions, ride them and watch animal exhibits.<\/p>
Iceflake is developing a feature called \u201cDivert logic.\u201d It can allow citizens to react to interactive objects they encounter during an existing journey. A person traveling to a destination could stop at a suitable bench before continuing to the original location. The system remains in development, and Iceflake has not confirmed how widely it will be used across the game.<\/p>
The studio described the goal as making leisure something citizens \u201cactually do\u201d rather than a destination they visit before returning home. Work connected to Park Adventures will also bring visual and other changes to areas of the base game beyond the leisure system.<\/p>
