The pop-up blurs the page and presents the text developers provide about their use of AI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The tool was identified on X by user outstarwalker. It searches each Steam product page for the AI usage field and triggers the pop-up when a disclosure is present. The add-on is available on the Chrome Web Store and has been installed by about 4,000 users. Developers can list uses such as admin tools, AI-generated voiceovers or procedurally created in-game assets. Those disclosures appear near the bottom of a game&#8217;s Steam page, just above the system requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The extension does not remove or block AI-generated content. It surfaces the disclosure so shoppers do not have to scroll to the bottom of a page to find the information. When the pop-up appears, users can press the browser back button to leave the store page or click Close to continue browsing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Game developers and studios are using generative tools for art, dialogue and audio. Riot Games has added a Head of Experiential AI role to integrate such tools into live services. Masayoshi Yokoyama, director of Stranger than Heaven, has warned that the scale of projects such as Grand Theft Auto 6 could push more teams to adopt AI in development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p
