A benchmark record in the Geekbench database identifies a device named Valve ‘Fremont’ running SteamOS and reporting a custom AMD processor labeled 1772. The CPU is listed as six cores and 12 threads with a maximum clock of 4.8GHz. The entry shows a single-core score of 2,334 and a multi-core score of 7,316. The test is a CPU benchmark and does not include any details about the system’s graphics hardware.

The Fremont name has appeared in the database previously with entries showing a Windows operating system. The current entry’s SteamOS designation indicates the device was tested on Valve’s Linux-based platform. Benchmark results frequently appear in public databases when review units, retailer samples or internal test systems are evaluated.

The Fremont CPU scores were compared with typical results for a Ryzen 5 7600, a processor with a similar core and thread count. The Fremont’s single-core score is lower than the Ryzen 5 7600’s typical single-core performance of about 2,750 points. The Fremont’s multi-core score is substantially lower than the Ryzen 5 7600’s multi-core results, which are roughly 12,000 points. The Geekbench entry does not explain the gap; firmware settings, power targets and software tuning can all affect benchmark outcomes and may differ between pre-release and retail units.

If the Fremont units in benchmark databases are review samples, the interval between reviewer access and public launch for consumer hardware commonly falls in the one-to-four-week range. Valve has not commented on the listing, and the benchmark entry does not explicitly name the product as the Steam Machine. The listing remains an unconfirmed leak rather than an official specification release.

The entry provides no information on graphics performance, system firmware or final software configuration, so it does not indicate in-game performance or the user experience in Valve’s living-room interface. Further benchmark entries, retailer listings, reviewer coverage or an official Valve announcement would be needed to confirm final specifications, performance and a launch date.
