Logitech has released the G305 X Superlight, an updated compact gaming mouse that reduces weight to 61g and upgrades the sensor and connectivity compared with the earlier G305 Lightspeed. The company lists the mouse at $79.99 / £69.99.

The G305 X Superlight retains the G305’s small, symmetrical shape while shortening and lowering the body. Logitech kept the five main buttons and a DPI button behind the scroll wheel. A small RGB element behind the DPI button is controllable through Logitech’s G Hub software. The underside includes a compartment for the USB‑A wireless dongle and a sliding switch to select power and connection modes.

Inside the shell is Logitech’s HERO 44K sensor rated to 44,000 DPI, 40G acceleration and a tracking speed of 678 inches per second. The mouse supports Logitech Lightspeed wireless with up to an 8kHz polling rate, Bluetooth, and a 1kHz wired mode over USB‑C. Logitech specifies battery life up to 130 hours at 1kHz and advertises a rapid-charge feature that provides roughly 3.5 hours of use after a two‑minute charge.

The G305 X Superlight uses exposed screws on the underside and a rechargeable battery held by clips, enabling user replacement without peeling glue or removing glide pads. The shell requires firm prying at the front edge after screws are removed. A power switch and a button to swap between Bluetooth and 2.4GHz wireless appear on the underside.

In testing documented by a reviewer, the sensor tracked fast and detailed movements accurately. The left and right switches were described as light, crisp and relatively quiet; Logitech does not list the specific switch model or rated lifespans. The scroll wheel’s detents were judged less defined than some rivals, and the glide pads were rated adequate but not exceptionally slick.

Logitech’s 8kHz wireless polling rate is available but will increase power draw; most users are likely to run the mouse at 1kHz to preserve battery life. The reviewer reported real‑world battery life consistent with Logitech’s 130‑hour figure under typical use and noted the compact mouse can last a week between charges for ordinary daily use.

At $79.99 the G305 X Superlight sits above earlier G305 models in price while undercutting several premium alternatives. Similar hardware from lesser‑known manufacturers can be found for roughly $10–$20 less. One reviewer wrote, “I’m genuinely surprised how much I like this mouse,” citing the compact shape and lower weight as a good fit for fingertip users and noting trade‑offs including wheel detent feel and value compared with lower‑cost clones.
