Gothic Remake, developed by Alkimia Interactive and released on June 5 for PC, emerged as the most-discussed new release in June 2026 after a week of industry showcases that included Summer Game Fest. The game drew attention during a period when publishers presented multiple upcoming titles.

The remake updates core systems from the 2001 action role-playing game. Controls have been modernized and tutorials expanded to improve accessibility. Inventory management has been enlarged and dodging and combat responsiveness have been refined. Players can perform minor magic attacks while moving in some situations, though some movement limitations from the original remain. The game is available through multiple PC storefronts, including G2A.COM.

Square Enix released The Adventures of Elliott: Millennium Tales in June. Developed by Team Asano, the title is an action RPG with faster-paced combat and puzzle-solving elements. The game uses a modern pixel-art visual style and departs from the turn-based structure associated with Team Asano’s previous Octopath Traveler series.

Recent high-profile releases that remained prominent in June include Forza Horizon 6 and IO Interactive’s 007: First Light. Forza Horizon 6 moved the series setting to Japan for the first time, featuring city streets, open fields and mountain passes, and reported high concurrent player counts on Steam after launch. 007: First Light presents an origin story for James Bond as a new recruit to MI6, with training sequences and early missions; the design incorporates level-based planning and problem solving noted in the developer’s prior work on the Hitman series.

During June’s industry events, publishers announced titles including Guild Wars 3, Resident Evil Veronica and Final Fantasy 7 Revelation. Gothic Remake and The Adventures of Elliott arrived in early June alongside those announcements, representing a mix of remade legacy properties and new intellectual property entering the market.
