Xbox brings four original Xbox games to PC

Microsoft’s Xbox division announced earlier today that four original Xbox titles are now backward compatible on Windows PCs. The games added in the initial rollout are BLiNX: The Time Sweeper, Conker: Live & Reloaded, Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge and Fusion Frenzy. Each title is available to buy on PC and is included with Xbox Game Pass subscriptions.

The PC releases include display and performance options aimed at modern hardware. Players can enable up to 4x resolution upscaling, toggle VSync, choose fullscreen or windowed mode, and adjust anisotropic filtering and antialiasing methods. Audio settings offer language options and subtitles where supported.

Microsoft described the release as the start of a broader backward compatibility program for original Xbox games on contemporary devices. The company said more original Xbox titles will be added in future updates and that Xbox achievements will be introduced for select games as the library expands.

Jason Ronald, Xbox vice president of Next Generation, wrote that Microsoft wants players to keep playing their games on new platforms when hardware changes. He added the four titles represent an initial batch and announced additional updates will follow.

The launch restores access to several early Xbox-era games for PC players and Game Pass subscribers and marks the beginning of a phased expansion of Microsoft’s backward compatibility catalog for original Xbox titles.
