ARC Raiders 1.36 separates matchmaking for Solo, Duo and Trio

Developer update 1.36.0 for ARC Raiders, released July 7, 2026, splits matchmaking tracking so Solo, Duo and Trio sessions are matched independently. The patch was deployed on PC and current-generation consoles.

The studio cited responses to a May survey as the reason for the change and said players had repeatedly reported mismatch issues when a single behaviour profile covered all modes. Under the previous system, actions and play patterns recorded in one mode could influence how the matchmaking system placed a player in another mode.

With the new system, the game assigns separate matchmaking profiles to Solo, Duo and Trio. Each profile records playstyle signals for its respective mode so a player’s tendencies in one mode do not carry over to the others. Duo matches are tracked independently as well, so teaming with a single friend will not affect placements for solo or three-player sessions.

The studio described the revision as one of the most requested features since the game’s launch and said the update aims to let players change between different approaches without past sessions altering their matchmaking. For example, a player who focuses on stealth and objectives in Solo should no longer be pushed into high-tempo PvP Trio matches based on previous behaviour.

The patch will also replace skill points with blueprints and Raider Tokens and introduce a crossover event with The Finals running July 9–30. Players who participate during the event window can unlock the Azimuth Outfit and Archaeologist Backpack Bundle.

ARC Raiders launched as a team-based looter shooter that combines objective-driven missions with player-versus-player encounters. The new per-mode tracking addresses community concerns about a single aggregated behaviour profile affecting match placements across different team sizes.
