Arc Raiders to retire Cred ahead of Frozen Trail update

Embark Studios will remove free in-game currency Cred on Oct. 8, 2026; claimed Raider Deck rewards will remain and be included in the Frozen Trail reward system.

Embark Studios will retire Cred, the free in-game currency in Arc Raiders, on Oct. 8, 2026. The change is listed in the game’s latest patch notes and will coincide with the Frozen Trail update in October.

The patch notes state, “we are retiring Cred as a currency, as we’ll be introducing a more expansive reward system launching with the Frozen Trail Update.” Players are advised to spend remaining Cred before it expires.

Embark clarified that any Raider Deck rewards already claimed will remain tied to player accounts. The studio added that all existing Raider Deck rewards will be included in the new reward system when Frozen Trail launches.

Cred is distinct from Raider Tokens, the game’s premium currency. Cred is earned by completing quests, extracting successfully from missions, and participating in in-game events, including community-driven efforts to unlock maps.

Players can spend Cred with vendors in Speranza, including a vendor named Shani, or on rewards available through Raider Decks. Embark reiterated that claimed Raider Deck rewards will carry over into the updated system.

Embark has presented the Frozen Trail update as a broader revision of the game’s progression and reward mechanics. Executive Producer Alex Grondal told the studio’s interview audience the team wants to “figure out what drives the players to come back, what they really want.”

The studio scheduled the Cred retirement to coincide with the rollout of the new reward mechanics to preserve claimed items and ensure existing Raider Deck content appears in the reworked system.
