Diablo 4 Season 16 Reworks War Plans Endgame System

Diablo 4 Season 16 will rework War Plans, add Tyrael’s Boons and introduce new Horadric items. The update 3.3.0 public test server opens Oct. 27.

Diablo 4 Season 16 will overhaul the War Plans endgame system, add the seasonal Tyrael’s Boons progression tree and introduce new Horadric items. The update 3.3.0 public test server will open Oct. 27, 2026, at 10 a.m. PT and close Nov. 3 at the same time.

The test will focus on the new systems, so it will not include every Season 16 feature. Blizzard plans to provide more information next week about which Season 15 features will continue into the new season.

War Plan Tactics will improve as players complete endgame activities. Players can spend points in a node-based system to influence which activities appear in future War Plans and increase the chance of receiving specific rewards. Activity nodes include Helltides, Nightmare Dungeons and The Pit, with additional upgrades for variants such as Greater Helltides and Escalation Dungeons.

Other nodes will increase the chance of receiving armor, weapons, jewelry, talismans, Obducite, salvage, gems, Horadric Cube materials, gold and activity keys. War Plans will be available in both Seasonal and Eternal modes.

Season 16 will add a separate Tyrael’s Boons progression page. It will provide bonuses tied to seasonal reputation and currency, reduce some crafting costs and change several seasonal systems. Players can reset their selections for gold at a cost of 5 million gold per point. Blizzard’s announcement says the system will not replace Seasonal Blessings, which will become a fixed set of five blessings each season.

The Season 16 version of Tyrael’s Boons will have four paths. Curios Addition will change Purveyor of Curiosities costs, the chance of receiving double items and the chance of finding Ancestral items. Merchant of Mystery will add a merchant that sells caches for Forgotten Souls, with later upgrades allowing gems or runes as payment.

Scent of Gold will increase gold and experience gains and improve the chance of finding Horadric Cube materials, gem fragments and Legendary items. Trash for Treasure will reduce transmuting costs and add Greater Temper, a recipe that can upgrade a tempered affix to a greater version. The system will also provide more Forgotten Souls, Obducite and Scrolls of Restoration. Players can eventually select up to four of six available options across the four paths.

War Plan changes will use Marks of Wisdom, earned by completing War Plans. Players can spend the currency on activity trees and the Tactics page.

Horadric items will be Legendary equipment with an extra affix that modifies a Talisman set bonus. On jewelry, the affix will add another count toward the bonus. Weapons and armor with Horadric affixes will gain an additional effect when players reach a set’s basic two-item bonus.

The Corrupted Reaper will return as an endgame boss alongside the Fractured Reaper. Players will fight both bosses at once, with their abilities combining during the encounter. Blizzard has linked the fight to high-level loot.

A testing NPC will let players instantly raise characters and Paragon ranks to the maximum level and provide gold, crafting materials and equipment. Blizzard has not announced a full release date for Season 16.
