Battlefield 6 Season 3 adds Tactical Obliteration mode

Season 3 ‘High-Value Target’ adds Tactical Obliteration, REDSEC Casual Battle Royale with AI, Wet Work event with EOD Bot Arm, and a free trial through July 6.

DICE and publisher Electronic Arts released Season 3, titled High-Value Target, for Battlefield 6 on June 30, 2026. The update includes a new small-team mode, a Casual battle royale option for REDSEC that uses AI opponents and teammates, a timed event with new rewards, additional equipment, and a free trial that runs through July 6.

Tactical Obliteration is a squad-focused multiplayer mode built around planting a device, defending a carrier and reaching target sites before the opposing team. The mode reduces team sizes and concentrates play on short, close-quarters rounds in which each death has greater impact on match outcomes. Matches require coordination of positioning and timing to complete objectives.

REDSEC gains a Casual Battle Royale mode that fills remaining player slots with AI teammates and opponents. The Casual mode uses smaller player counts and AI to provide a lower-pressure environment for players to practice looting, movement, rotation and endgame play without matching directly against large numbers of experienced human squads.

The Wet Work event runs in both core Multiplayer and REDSEC modes. Players complete challenge objectives focused on eliminating opponents to earn event-specific rewards. One unlockable reward tied to Seasonal challenges and event progression is the EOD Bot Arm melee weapon, which is modeled on the game’s D-Bot design.

The update also includes gameplay adjustments and new hardware intended to change how matches play across modes. The free trial, available through July 6, grants temporary access to the game and Season 3 content across platforms, allowing players to try Tactical Obliteration, REDSEC Casual mode and the Wet Work event without purchasing the game.

Season 3 delivers targeted changes to objective-based play and adds options aimed at both competitive squads and players new to the battle royale format.
