Brawl Stars swaps Starr Road for Brawler Blast

Brawl Stars will replace Starr Road with Brawler Blast, a Credits-based system that randomly unlocks Brawlers and awards progression including Power Levels and Hypercharges.
Supercell will replace the Starr Road unlock system in Brawl Stars with a new feature called Brawler Blast in the next update. The studio says the change uses the existing Credits currency to grant random Brawlers and add progression to the character received.
Players will still earn Credits as before and the number required for each rarity will not change. When a player has enough Credits for an unlock, they enter the Brawler Blast screen. The screen shows a selection of possible Brawlers but does not reveal the final pick until the sequence finishes. The system eliminates Brawlers one by one; each removed option awards a random amount of Gem Fragments that convert into progression for the eventual unlock.
Progression gained through Brawler Blast can include Power Levels, Gadgets, Star Powers, Gears, Hypercharges, Buffies and other Brawler-specific upgrades. Each unlock is guaranteed to include at least one Power Level. On rare occasions a new Brawler can arrive with much higher progression, including Power Level 11 and a Hypercharge.
There will be limited cases where players can choose between multiple options. The game may present between two and five Brawlers; once a player picks one, they receive that Brawler plus all progression accumulated during the elimination sequence. If only one locked Brawler remains on an account, Brawler Blast will automatically unlock it and still grant the extra progression.
The update changes the order in which rarities are unlocked, so existing Starr Road progress will map differently in the new system. To address that, Supercell will add 1,500 Credits to the in-game Shop after the Brawl Talk presentation on August 29. Players can use those Credits to finish an unlock before the update or save them for use afterward.
Supercell confirmed the overall Credit economy will not change and that Credit requirements per rarity remain the same. The studio plans occasional Credit Rush events to provide more ways to earn Credits. New Brawlers released in future updates will be placed in their rarity pools and can appear in Brawler Blast; separate Brawler Release events will continue to offer an alternate unlock path.
The Brawler Blast system replaces a targeted Starr Road progression with randomized rarity pools while keeping the same Credit costs for unlocks.
