Champs-Élysées to Host Free Esports Festival on Aug. 2, 2026

On Aug. 2, 2026 the Esports Foundation will hold a free, open-air festival on Paris’s Champs-Élysées with competitions, creator showmatches and interactive gaming during EWC week.

The Esports Foundation will stage a free Esports Festival on Paris’s Champs-Élysées on August 2, 2026, as part of activities around the Esports World Cup (EWC) 2026. The single-day event will offer public competitions, creator showmatches and hands-on gaming areas along the central Paris boulevard.

Organized in partnership with the Comité Champs-Élysées, the open-air festival will run while the main EWC tournament continues at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles. The program pairs French esports founders and pioneers with figures from music, entertainment and content creation for mixed-team matches and short tournaments.

Scheduled competitions include Rocket League mini-tournaments and showmatches for Trackmania and EA SPORTS FC 26. Stages and presentations are designed for live spectators and passersby, combining short competitive sets with entertainment-focused segments.

The festival will also host interactive zones where visitors can play games, try hands-on experiences and learn about careers in esports and competitive pathways. Panels will feature professional players, team representatives and industry figures discussing team development and routes into competition.

Admission to the event is free and open to the public. Organizers plan the location and format to make programming accessible to long-time esports fans and people new to the scene.

EWC 2026 will include expanded international participation, with the largest-ever representation from India at the tournament. Indian organizations S8UL and GodLike Esports were chosen through the Esports Foundation’s 2026 Club Partner Program and will compete across mobile, PC and console titles.

Chess has been added to the EWC program and includes a qualification route for Indian players through the India Rising qualifier held in Mumbai. Other Indian teams that qualified through official pathways and will take part in EWC 2026 include Revenant Xspark, Global Esports, Orangutan, Apex Gaming, Total Gaming and True Rippers.

The Esports Festival provides a city-center complement to the venue-based competition at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, offering casual and spectator-friendly programming outside the main competitive arenas. Organizers describe the festival as an opportunity to broaden public access to the weeklong series of EWC events.
