Creators Report GTA 6 Preview Lacks First-Person Mode
Content creators who tested Grand Theft Auto 6 preview builds report the versions they received lacked a first-person camera option.
Several streamers and YouTubers who tested preview builds of Grand Theft Auto 6 over the past weeks report the versions they received did not include a first-person camera option.
Gameplay clips and livestreams posted by testers show third-person perspectives focused on characters and exterior vehicle views. Participants attempted to switch to a first-person view during on-foot exploration, driving and combat but found no active camera toggle or settings option in the builds they played.
In the shared footage the camera remains positioned behind the player character while on foot and shifts to exterior perspectives when driving. Testers observed HUD elements and animations that matched a third-person presentation in those builds.
The Grand Theft Auto series is developed by Rockstar Games and published by Take-Two Interactive. Grand Theft Auto V offered a first-person mode on later console and PC releases, and that prior support shaped some expectations for the sequel.
Rockstar and Take-Two have not issued a public statement confirming whether first-person will be available in the final release. The reports reflect the state of specific preview builds only; pre-release versions can be changed, with features added, adjusted or removed before launch.
Until the developer publishes an official feature list or release notes, the content creators’ footage and accounts remain the primary public source of information about camera options in the preview builds.
