Deadlock Halloween Update Redesigns Midboss Arena

Valve’s Halloween update for Deadlock is live, with a redesigned Midboss arena, three Rejuvenator crystals and balance changes for nearly every hero and item.

Valve has released Deadlock’s Halloween update on Steam. The patch adds Halloween Candy, which will remain available until Nov. 2, 2026, and introduces map, gameplay, hero and item changes.

The Midboss arena is now larger and has more complex terrain with additional cover. Midboss has more health, gives half its previous bounty and does not roar until it reaches 25% health.

Defeating Midboss now creates three Rejuvenator crystals instead of one. Each crystal gives a bounty and fully heals the player who breaks it. That player’s team receives one Rejuvenator buff per crystal. Baba’s heavy melee stomp can break only the nearest crystal.

Breakable objects across the map now provide less growth value, while Haunts are stronger. Haunted Souls take 25% longer to secure by default. Players whose team is behind in Net Worth can secure them faster, with the bonus reaching 50% when their team is 20% below the opposing team’s average Net Worth. Comeback gold from non-hero sources has increased, and Healing Snacks restore more health.

Movement speed in tunnels has been reduced. Steam Vents now provide a 150% stamina regeneration bonus. Movement slows have a stronger effect on air movement, making it harder for airborne heroes and jetpack users to change direction.

Halloween decorations have been added to the Cursed Apple and the hideout. Heavy melee attacks can break Cauldrons around the map, causing them to drop Candy. Eating Candy restores stamina, heals the player and grants an eight-second Sugar Rush effect that increases movement speed, fire rate and spirit power.

Valve has changed nearly every hero. Abrams receives more gun damage. Baba’s Threadsap and Granny Long Legs have been weakened, while Billy, Calico, Doorman, Drifter, Kelvin, Lady Geist, Lash, McGinnis, Viscous and Warden receive improvements. Celeste, Graves, Nurse Harrow, Rat King, Rooks and Wraith are among the heroes with nerfs.

Mirage’s Traveler takes longer to channel and can be interrupted by stuns, immobilization, sleep and Slowing Hex. Its highest upgrade prevents interruptions caused by damage. Nurse Harrow’s ultimate takes longer to build fear, can be avoided by looking away from her and provides 50% damage reduction at its highest level instead of full immunity. Violet’s ultimate has a longer cooldown, weaker spirit scaling and ends when she dies.

Item changes include a smaller damage penalty for Golden Goose Egg, weaker Radiant Regeneration that activates only during combat and a stacking effect for Healbane with diminishing returns.

The six heroes added in the City Never Sleeps update are no longer classified as new. They now require 15 wins before they can be used in ranked matches and are eligible for bans.

Deadlock remains free to play on Steam, but access requires an invitation from a player who already has access to the game.
