GTA 6 PC Release Reportedly Set For Early 2027
Four anonymous industry sources say Rockstar plans to release GTA 6 on PC in the first quarter of 2027. Rockstar has not confirmed the port or its date.
Rockstar Games plans to release Grand Theft Auto 6 on PC in the first quarter of 2027, according to four industry sources familiar with the company’s plans. Rockstar has not confirmed a PC version or its release date.
The reported window runs from January through March 2027, within months of the game’s scheduled Nov. 19, 2026, launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar has not said whether the PC version would launch on all digital storefronts at the same time.
All four sources requested anonymity to protect their business relationships. Rockstar has not publicly discussed its PC plans, and the reported timing could change before an announcement.
A PC release in early 2027 would come sooner than the PC launch of Grand Theft Auto V. That game arrived on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in September 2013 and reached PC in April 2015, about 19 months later. Red Dead Redemption 2 also launched on PC more than a year after its console release.
The PC version has remained unconfirmed since GTA 6 was announced. Rockstar has not provided details about a console performance mode, and reports have indicated that the game is targeting 30 frames per second on consoles.
Rockstar acquired Cfx.re, the team behind the FiveM role-playing platform for Grand Theft Auto V, in 2023. The company has also indicated interest in tools and features that support user-created content.
Rockstar has not announced a release date for GTA 6’s online component. In September 2026, Twitch CEO Dan Clancy told Bloomberg that the online portion would arrive “next year.” Rockstar has not confirmed that timetable.
GTA 6 was initially expected in 2025. Rockstar later shifted the release to May 2026 and then to Nov. 19, 2026. The game is currently scheduled for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, while the reported PC release remains unverified.
