Guild Wars 2 launches Code of Creation, ends Visions of Eternity

Guild Wars 2’s Code of Creation update launches today, ending the Visions of Eternity arc and adding Leyspring Hollows, six story chapters, a ten-player raid and new gear.

ArenaNet released the Code of Creation update for Guild Wars 2 today. The update concludes the Visions of Eternity story arc and adds a new explorable zone, six story chapters, a ten-player raid and multiple new items.

Leyspring Hollows is the main new zone. Players can progress Rift Amplification Mastery there while confronting the Inquest and the Asura Vloxx. The region includes the Stewards of Galdra as allied characters and hosts a multistage meta-event called Depths of Cruelty. That meta-event runs on a three-hour cycle instead of the game’s usual two-hour cycle and ends with encounters against Director Kuda.

Nexus of Eternity is available at launch as a ten-player raid. ArenaNet plans to add Challenge and Legendary modes in the weeks after release. Smaller groups can take on the Solitary Throne Fractal for five players. The Nexus of Eternity Convergence supports up to 50 players in a timed defense of Tyria.

New rewards include relics, the Tenebral Ward armor set, the Shining Ward weapons, and the Wages of Stars legendary sword. The update expands progression with Rift Amplification Mastery linked to the new area and introduces new enemy types and mechanics associated with the Inquest campaign.

ArenaNet scheduled further updates from September through December. The next event, Dismount Rush, is set to begin later this month. The expansion is priced at $24.99 for the standard edition, $49.99 for deluxe and $74.99 for the ultimate edition.

ArenaNet is also developing Guild Wars 3. The sequel will include a new momentum system that adds mobility options such as clambering and wallrunning and environmental interactions that can stun enemies when they are pushed into scenery.
