Guild Wars 2 finale update Code of Creation lands Sept. 15
ArenaNet will release Code of Creation, the final major update for Guild Wars 2: Visions of Eternity, on Sept. 15, adding Leyspring Hollows, a 10-player raid, a 5-player fractal, a Convergence event and new legendary rewards.
ArenaNet will release Code of Creation, the final major update for Guild Wars 2: Visions of Eternity, on Sept. 15. The update will be available to players who own the Visions of Eternity expansion, which is sold for $24.99 on Steam and through the Guild Wars 2 website.
Code of Creation concludes the Castora island storyline that continued from the chapter titled The Only Way. Players will reunite with allies to confront the antagonist Vloxx and attempt to stop a decision that the developer says could doom Tyria.
The update adds a new explorable zone called Leyspring Hollows. Players can use the area to advance Rift Amplification Mastery and to obtain equipment drops, including the Tenebral Ward armor set, the Shining Ward weapon set and several new relics. ArenaNet is introducing a new season for the Wizard’s Vault that offers additional cosmetic rewards tied to that progression.
For players pursuing legendary gear, Code of Creation introduces progression toward the Wages of Stars legendary sword and a new Volatile Ascension infusion. These items join the existing progression systems within Visions of Eternity and provide additional objectives for long-term character advancement.
The update adds three group activities. Nexus of Eternity is a 10-player raid that will launch with standard options; Challenge and Legendary Modes will be added in the weeks after release. Solitary Throne is a new five-player fractal that will receive a Challenge Mode at a later date. Nexus of Eternity Convergence is a large-scale, up-to-50-player timed event in which groups race against the clock to defend Tyria.
Code of Creation is the final major update for Visions of Eternity and completes the Castora storyline while expanding endgame activities and reward tracks. Players who own the expansion can access the new content on Sept. 15.
