Herschel backpack add-on expands Minecraft inventory to 288 slots - news.goranked

Mojang and Herschel Supply released a free Minecraft Bedrock add-on that adds an upgradeable Herschel backpack with up to 288 inventory slots, available now on the Minecraft Marketplace.

Mojang Studios and Herschel Supply launched the Herschel Backpack Trials Add-On for Minecraft Bedrock. The free pack is available now on the Minecraft Marketplace and adds a virtual, equippable Herschel backpack to the game.

Players equip the backpack and expand its capacity by completing in-game Trials challenges. Each unlocked page adds 24 inventory slots. Players can unlock up to 16 pages, for a maximum of 288 slots. A standard player inventory contains 40 slots. With the common stack size of 64 items, a fully upgraded Herschel backpack can hold 18,432 items.

The backpack includes functional upgrades earned through Trials. Features listed in the add-on include Auto Sort, which organizes items placed into the pack, and Auto Restock, which refills the player’s hand with matching items from the backpack while building. Certain upgrades enable tool repair while traveling, which can serve as an alternative to the in-game Mending enchantment for maintaining tool durability.

In-game designs mirror Herschel’s physical products. Available styles include a bright green Creeper-themed bag, a version patterned after an Enderman face with purple eyes, and a Little America Cube printed to look like a dirt block. The physical limited-edition Little America Cube sold out, but the dirt-block design is offered digitally through the add-on.

The add-on is free on Bedrock platforms and is not available for Minecraft Java Edition. The Marketplace listing does not attach a time limit to the offer.

Minecraft recently received the 26.2 Chaos Cubed update. The Herschel collaboration gives Bedrock players an optional, Marketplace-based way to increase inventory space and add utility without changing server rules or installing separate mods.
