Honkai: Star Rail 4.5 launches Aug. 26 with two new characters

HoYoverse will release Honkai: Star Rail Version 4.5, titled “To Roll the Stars in Astropolis,” on Aug. 26, 2026. The update adds two new five-star characters, Aventurine • Waveflair and Robin • Summeretto, and opens three playable areas: Astropolis, Lodestar Tower and Skycall Aery.

The new zones introduce two enemy types, Lighthouse and Astropolis Sentinel. Version 4.5 runs for five weeks and is divided into two phases of roughly 17 days each. Each phase includes character banners, time-limited events and rerun banners.

Aventurine • Waveflair is a five-star Quantum Elation main DPS. His kit centers on generating a resource called Fervor through his skills and by converting teammate actions via mechanics labeled Punchlines, then spending Fervor to deliver concentrated Quantum Elation damage. Robin • Summeretto is a five-star Wind Remembrance support who builds a resource called Vibes through frequent ally attacks. After collecting Vibes, Robin enters a Fever state in which she does not take turns, grants large offensive buffs, ignores enemy DEF and deals additional damage through summoned Summer Songbirds.

HoYoverse is scheduling multiple limited-time events in Version 4.5. The Gift of Odyssey log-in event grants 10 Special Star Rail Passes over seven days. Overdrive: Whirlwind Grand Prix is a racing event that rewards a four-star Light Cone, level-up materials and Stellar Jade on completion. Minuscule Great Adventure is a combat event that tasks teams with defeating powerful enemies in exchange for Stellar Jade and other materials.

The update features two five-star reruns during its phases: Hyacine will return in the first phase and Ashveil will return in the second. New signature Light Cones for Aventurine and Robin are included, along with fresh story content and exploration tasks tied to the new Astropolis areas.

HoYoverse confirmed a crossover with Zenless Zone Zero scheduled for winter 2026. Developers said related collaboration content will appear in a later update window.

During the Version 4.5 livestream, developers issued short-term redemption codes that expire within 24 hours; players must redeem them promptly. The codes shown during the stream are 2TKRKAR6YG2X, LSJ9JARPZH33 and YAJQ2TR6ZY2P; the codes grant Stellar Jade, credits, Traveler’s Guides and Refined Aether.

The version introduces new mechanics, characters and zones across a five-week cycle, offering new builds and rewards for players focused on both single-character damage strategies and team-based support synergies.
