League of Legends Classic launches July 29 with 60 champions

Riot Games will launch League of Legends Classic on July 29, 2026 with Patch 26.15, restoring Season 3 systems, the original Summoner’s Rift and a 60‑champion roster.

Riot Games announced League of Legends Classic will launch on July 29, 2026 as part of Patch 26.15. The mode will be available inside the main League client and recreates gameplay and visuals from Season 3 while keeping selected modern adjustments.

Classic includes the original Summoner’s Rift map, classic jungle camps and older ward types. Runes and masteries are restored to their pre-2017 formats and the in-game economy will use Influence Points (IP) alongside classic and retired items. Summoner leveling will run from 1 to 30 and the original shop interface returns. The mode will also include a battle pass and token systems aligned with the nostalgic design.

At launch Classic will feature 60 champions, including the 40 champions that shipped with the game’s 2009 release. Riot confirmed early-era champions on the launch roster such as Alistar, Amumu, Annie, Ashe, Blitzcrank, Corki, Gangplank, Jax, Katarina, Master Yi, Morgana, Nasus, Ryze, Sion, Sivir, Teemo, Tristana, Twisted Fate, Veigar and Warwick.

Players can access original iterations of reworked champions to see abilities that were removed or changed in later updates for characters including Graves, Sion and Urgot. Riot called Classic a curated collection of features from the game’s early years rather than a literal rollback to a single patch.

Riot plans to add more champions after launch, with future additions guided by community voting. League of Legends Classic will be available through the main League client starting July 29, 2026 with Patch 26.15.
