League of Legends adds team-wide voice chat

Riot Games will open voice chat to full teams in Patch 26.20 for North America and Oceania; players must be Honor Level 3 or higher to use it.
Riot Games announced an expansion of voice chat in League of Legends that will allow players to speak with their entire team rather than only within premade groups. The feature will begin rolling out in North America and Oceania with Patch 26.20. Access requires players to have Honor Level 3 or higher.
The update introduces technical improvements aimed at clearer, more reliable in-game audio. The developer listed better noise cancellation, faster connection times and increased stability as part of the new team-wide voice system.
Riot has set the Honor Level requirement as a moderation measure while it monitors system load and player feedback during the initial rollout. The company plans a staged release so it can refine moderation and safety systems as more players gain access. Expansion to additional regions will follow after evaluation of technical performance and community responses.
The update also adds voice skins, a set of voice-modulation options that let players change tonality and character in real time. The developer said the settings can be adjusted during play and will be available when the update goes live.
Alongside voice changes, Riot highlighted a focus on music for Season 3 Act 2 and announced an upcoming musical reveal. The developer pointed to past in-universe musical acts such as K/DA, Pentakill and Heartsteel as background for its music plans.
Previous in-match voice communication was limited to players who queued together. The new team-wide option removes that restriction and will be available first to eligible players in the specified regions with the Patch 26.20 release.
