No Man’s Sky Brings Its Universe To iPhone On October 28
Hello Games will release No Man’s Sky for iPhone and iPad on October 28, with more than 40 updates included. Pre-orders are open on Apple’s App Store.
Hello Games will release the full version of No Man’s Sky for iPhone and iPad on October 28. The mobile version will include more than 40 major updates released since the game’s 2016 launch. Pre-orders are open through Apple’s App Store.
The game will use procedural generation to create planets in real time on the device as players explore its universe. It will run on the iPhone 11 and newer models, along with the third-generation iPad Air and later compatible iPads.
Hello Games rebuilt the touch controls for mobile devices. Players will be able to explore on foot, fly spacecraft, drive vehicles, pilot mechs, switch between first- and third-person views, and use crafting menus. External controllers will be supported.
On iPad, players will be able to cast the game to a television or use a mouse and keyboard. The download will require less than 5GB of storage. Hello Games has also worked on battery use and heat management for longer play sessions.
Multiplayer and settlements will not be available at launch. Hello Games has not announced an Android version.
No Man’s Sky launched in 2016 after a troubled release. Hello Games has since issued more than 40 free updates, including the recent Cosmos update and last year’s Voyagers update, which added customizable large starships.
