Orion Backgammon adds dice-roll verification on iPhone

Orion Backgammon is now available on iPhone and iPad. Independent studio Arthea developed a verification system that lets players check whether the dice rolls in a completed match were altered.

Before each match, the game seals the seed used to generate every roll. After the match, the player’s device checks the seed and the recorded rolls for changes. Players can enter a game ID into a public verifier to review the result themselves.

The game includes real-time matches, a doubling cube, 10 ranked leagues and seasonal rewards. Players can create clubs with friends. A Masters tournament runs from Friday through Sunday each weekend, with live standings and in-game gems and coins as prizes. The tournaments do not offer real-money rewards.

Orion Backgammon also includes offline campaigns against artificial intelligence across 12 themed destinations. Locations include a café in Tangier and a moon garden in Kyoto. Players can collect boards, dice and checkers associated with the destinations.

Arthea released the game on Android in August. Orion Backgammon is free to play on the App Store and Google Play. It contains no advertisements and offers optional cosmetic items and a season pass.
