NHN PlayArt launched an open beta for Over Rush on Android and iOS in Japan on Sept. 17. The test runs through Sept. 24, 2026. NHN PlayArt intends to use the beta to evaluate gameplay balance and server performance before a wider release.
NHN PlayArt, the studio behind DISSIDIA DUELLUM FINAL FANTASY and Touken Ranbu Puzzle, developed Over Rush. The company describes the game as a high-speed card-battle RPG that combines card fights with roguelike-style deck building and rapid in-match decisions.
Gameplay centers on connecting cards by color to form combos and keep encounters moving. Players build decks, choose abilities and make fast timing decisions during matches. Controls are simple to learn, and additional systems are layered under the surface to provide longer-term depth.
Progression depends on collecting and modifying cards. Players can combine cards and abilities, upgrade characters and cards, and pursue higher scores across runs. The roguelike influence changes how decks evolve between attempts, encouraging players to adjust strategies from run to run.
The game is set in Think City, a near-future urban environment where humans and autonomous robots called Workroids coexist. Players take the role of a captain in the police RUSH Team partnered with a humanoid Workroid named Buddy, responding to Workroid rampage incidents. The narrative frames missions and card-based combat.
Promotional images display 2D character art and stylized card designs with an anime-influenced presentation. The current open beta is limited to players in Japan on Android and iOS. NHN PlayArt has not announced an international release date.
