Roblox Plus limits free private servers to one per game

Roblox Plus will limit subscribers to one free private server per game starting Sept. 24 after some members used the benefit to create thousands of free paid servers that reduced creator revenue.
Roblox Corporation announced that Roblox Plus subscribers will be limited to one free private server per game starting Sept. 24. The company reported that some Roblox accounts created thousands of free paid private servers, which reduced creators’ opportunities to sell private-server access and affected game economies.
Under the new rule, paid private servers included with Roblox Plus will be limited to a single free instance per game. Existing extra servers will stop renewing after Sept. 24 unless the subscriber manually renews them at the price set by the game’s developer. Subscribers can find the server that will remain active by opening the subscriptions menu and looking for the label “Included with Roblox Plus.”
Developers keep control over private server pricing and availability. If a creator chooses to offer private servers for free, players can still create unlimited free servers. The restriction applies only to servers that charge a fee. Players can continue to purchase additional paid private servers at developer-set prices.
Roblox wrote to creators that most Plus members use one free private server per game, which is why the company set the limit at one. “When we first introduced unlimited private servers, our goal was to give Plus members as much flexibility as possible,” the company added. “However, we found that a small number of Plus members were creating thousands of free paid private servers per game with broad access, which unintentionally impacted creator revenue. We didn’t expect this, and we’re fixing it.”
Players who rely on Roblox Plus private servers should review their subscriptions before Sept. 24 to ensure the server they want remains active or to arrange renewal of additional servers at the price set by the creator.
Earlier this month, Roblox updated its in-game reporting interface to simplify filing, show safety tips and outcome notifications.
