Supercell fixes Hero Journey rewards bug, compensates players

Supercell will deliver missed Hero Journey rewards and grant one-time ore compensation to affected players, calling Hero Journey a catch-up system for Epic Equipment.

Supercell will deliver missed Hero Journey rewards and provide a one-time ore package to affected Clash of Clans players after a migration bug caused some rewards to appear as already claimed.

The problem emerged after the June 2026 update that introduced Hero Journey, a new troop and spell, quality-of-life improvements and the return of Global Chat. Players reported that skins, resources, ores, magic items and quest rewards showed as claimed in the migration but never arrived in accounts.

The developer acknowledged the bug, confirmed it has been identified and indicated that all missed items will be sent soon. Impacted accounts will receive a one-time compensation of 2,000 Shiny Ore, 50 Glowy Ore and 10 Starry Ore.

Supercell clarified how the migration calculated different rewards for players at similar Town Hall levels. Town Hall level was not the only factor. The system also evaluated cumulative Hero levels, whether the account owned any Epic Equipment and the current levels of that equipment.

The studio reported that nearly 40% of accounts had no Epic Equipment as of February 2026. To address that gap, the migration ran in two stages. First it awarded new Epic Equipment tied to Hero Journey milestones. Then, if an account still lacked enough usable Epic Equipment for its Town Hall, the system increased levels on existing equipment.

That order explains why some players received entirely new items while others saw only level boosts. Another concern involved ore chest rewards tied to Hero Journey quests. Supercell clarified those ore chests were not intended to be granted during migration; they must be unlocked through normal Hero upgrades and by completing Hero Journey quests over time.

Developers noted that players who had progressed farther along the Hero Journey track would see fewer future quest nodes available, which could make it appear they received fewer rewards going forward. The company acknowledged the ore economy still needs adjustments and described Hero Journey as a catch-up path to help newer and returning players access Epic Equipment faster. Supercell added it will monitor player feedback and refine the system.
