Supercell returns mo.co to beta; live game set to low maintenance

Supercell is moving mo.co back to beta to test major changes and has placed the live game into low-maintenance mode, pausing new weapons and premium Season Pass tracks.
Supercell has returned the mobile shooter mo.co to beta and shifted the live build into low-maintenance mode as it reassesses the title’s core systems. The company said the change will let developers test ideas more quickly while they rethink the game’s direction.
The live version of mo.co will remain available but will receive fewer traditional seasonal updates. Supercell confirmed that new weapon systems and premium Season Pass tracks will not be added in the near term. Elite Merch will cycle cosmetics from Seasons 1 through 4, some older items will be reused, and premium cosmetics will be offered more sparingly.
Supercell set an internal target to release the next update before the end of 2026 but has not announced a firm date. The studio described a new team structure focused on beta testing that should allow developers to release experimental content earlier, iterate faster, and collect player feedback sooner than through long, closed development cycles.
Player progression is under review as part of the redesign. At present there are no plans to reset Cosmetics or Collector Levels, though Supercell is evaluating potential impacts on Weapons, Cores, and Career Level if the game’s progression system changes. Developers wrote that they will only reset progress if it becomes necessary and will provide more information once the new version’s scope is clearer.
Supercell said updates will not stop completely. Instead, the studio plans to trial temporary content and experimental features intended to shorten the time between releases and allow faster adjustments based on how players respond.
For current players, the immediate changes are a pause on new weapons, a reduced premium pass offering, and recycled cosmetic pools while the studio develops the next major iteration of mo.co. Supercell said it will share additional details about progression effects and any reset policies as the redesign progresses.
