Supercell teases Town Hall 19, says older troops will matter
Community manager Fernando Ferri told Judo Sloth Talks Town Hall 19 could make older troops ‘interesting again’ and confirmed Ranked and Battle Mode tweaks, QoL updates and the Elephant Rider troop.
Fernando Ferri, Clash of Clans community manager, outlined early plans for Town Hall 19 and other updates during Episode 2 of the Judo Sloth Talks 2026 interview series. He offered limited details but highlighted changes to Ranked and Battle Mode, several quality-of-life updates, and the delayed Elephant Rider troop.
Ferri acknowledged that splitting competitive and casual play met its initial goal but left some players feeling Ranked play was mandatory because ore rewards remain tied to progression. The development team is working on Battle Mode adjustments and reward changes to reduce that pressure. Since Ranked launched, players have completed more than 4.55 billion Ranked battles.
On Town Hall 19, Ferri declined to share full design details but indicated the update could make older troops ‘interesting again’ by shifting strategy and balance. He confirmed the Elephant Rider, a temporary troop created through a Supercell Make campaign, is finished and scheduled to arrive later this year after previous delays. No exact release date was given.
Ferri described continuing, targeted updates for Builder Base and Clan Capital rather than waiting for a large Home Village update. Recent work on those areas included loot increases and gameplay tweaks, and the team plans similar incremental fixes going forward.
The studio is evaluating several frequently requested features. One concept would merge the Pet House with the Laboratory by adding a second researcher, which could allow two research upgrades to run at once. Other ideas under consideration include allowing clan name changes, simplifying account switching while under attack, improving decoration management, and further Battle Mode updates. Ferri emphasized these are under review and not yet scheduled.
Ferri said more small quality-of-life patches may arrive before or alongside larger content drops. He stated the team will share fuller details as plans for Town Hall 19 and the Ranked/Battle Mode updates are finalized.
