Tearscape launches on Android, iOS, PC and consoles

NERDS TAKE OVER released Tearscape, a 2D top-down Gothic action-adventure with Soulslike combat, now available on Android, iOS, PC, Switch, PS5 and Xbox Series S|X for $9.99.

NERDS TAKE OVER has released Tearscape, a 2D top-down action-adventure set in a Gothic pixel-art world. The game is available now on Android, iOS, PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S|X as a premium title priced at $9.99. Mobile users can download it from the Google Play Store or the App Store.

Players control a Hunter who navigates a non-linear, interconnected map filled with dungeons, secret routes and varied enemy encounters. Combat emphasizes timing and stamina management. Healing is limited by a fixed number of flasks, and players can improve their chances by upgrading character stats and equipment. The game pairs pixel visuals inspired by classic handheld titles with modern enemy patterns and resource constraints.

Tearscape supports two-player local co-op using controllers. There are no adjustable difficulty settings, so enemy behavior and dungeon layouts remain the same across platforms. The developer launched the game simultaneously on all listed systems.

Level design rewards exploration with shortcuts, hidden areas and tools or abilities tucked away in dungeons. Boss fights require different approaches and often depend on upgraded stats or specific equipment. Enemies are described by the developer as grotesque and varied, and dungeons mix environmental hazards with combat challenges.

Early responses on social media and PC storefront reviews have been positive, with players noting the atmosphere, pixel visuals and combat mechanics. The developer has not released sales figures or detailed post-launch plans.

The release continues a recent pattern among independent studios of adapting Soulslike mechanics to 2D formats, focusing on stamina management, limited healing resources and interconnected maps while using retro visual styles and local co-op support.
