Ubisoft Proposes Closing Trials Studio RedLynx

Ubisoft has proposed closing Helsinki-based RedLynx, which employs about 52 people, and plans to cut about 70 jobs at Ubisoft Singapore.

Ubisoft has proposed closing RedLynx, its Helsinki-based studio behind the Trials series, and plans to cut about 70 roles at Ubisoft Singapore. The changes follow a review of the sustainability and future work pipelines of Ubisoft’s studios.

RedLynx has no active development project. Ubisoft has determined that reducing the studio’s size would not make it financially viable, leading to the closure proposal.

The proposal must go through mandatory change negotiations with employees under Finnish law. The process applies because RedLynx employs more than 50 people. Ubisoft cannot make final decisions about affected jobs until the negotiations are complete.

Founded in Helsinki in 2000, RedLynx became known for the Trials series. The studio first made browser games before releasing Trials HD for Xbox Live Arcade. Ubisoft acquired RedLynx in 2011.

The studio’s last mainline Trials game was Trials Rising, released in 2019. RedLynx later worked in a support role on projects including the Stadia version of The Division 2, the mobile game Gwen’s Getaway and the Switch 2 version of Star Wars: Outlaws. Ubisoft laid off up to 60 RedLynx employees in October 2025 and shifted the studio’s focus to mobile development.

Ubisoft Singapore will remain open but is expected to lose about 70 positions in a restructuring. Founded in 2008, the studio has supported several Assassin’s Creed games and led development of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, which launched in July and sold more than three million copies in its first 10 days.

Ubisoft has faced declining revenue and carried out repeated restructuring across its global studio network during the past two years.
