Warframe: Tau expansion set to launch in December 2026

Digital Extremes confirmed that Warframe: Tau will launch on all platforms in December 2026. The expansion will open the Tau sector for exploration and add a single-player story.

The sector was first introduced in the Old Peace update. The new story will examine what happened there in the years since that update.

Tau will introduce Brysko, Warframe’s 67th playable Warframe. The character will have a noir detective theme and an inner monologue voiced by actor Matt Mercer. Players can obtain Brysko through the in-game marketplace or by progressing through gameplay.

The expansion will add new versions of Warframe’s cooperative modes, including a survival mission on the Fornax moon of Perita.

Players will also be able to visit Manifold 90-BF, a new social hub. The location will include new characters and additional story-related mysteries.
