It's another Frosty Christmas, which means that Skeleton Frost has awakened from his hibernation under the dark, wine-like Seas of Blood surrounding the Frosty Castle... sent legions of goblin children he kidnapped to toy mines for gifts... harnessed his bone sleigh with twin direwolves, Lumpo and Rupertus, who gleamed with red eyes... and has already landed on the roof of your house or even entered it.

If you've been good, get ready to decorate your Christmas tree with new and classic Coldplay accessories, a bunch of client improvements, new premium Dota Plus packs, and the 7.35 update - you can read about all of that.

If you've been a bad boy, we have great news for everyone else and bad news for you - this year we're going to have a bloodbath. You may remember that in September we took out the ban hammer and permanently banned 90,000 smurf accounts. Since then, we have continued not only to personally monitor player behavior but also to analyze their actions using automated systems. In the last few weeks, we have seen another, more aggressive wave of blocking, including tens of thousands of accounts blocked today.

At The International, some professional players discussed their smurf accounts with us. These discussions continued, and the professionals reached a mutual agreement: blocking their smurf accounts improves the Dota community. The rules should apply to everyone, and now they will. And smurfing is not the only questionable activity. Among other things, some offenders spoil the games of others and lose their integrity, and then hire other people to bring it back up.

Regardless of what you've done, we've been watching you (but certainly not how you sleep), and today we're taking strict action. All of the above violations will be punished, including a reduction in decency and, in the most serious cases, blocking of your main accounts.

As we've said before, smurfing (and other negative behavior) spoils the game, and we want to make the New Year's Eve experience as enjoyable as ever. So we wish you all a happy cold-weather update! Everyone except the smurf accounts, who are unlikely to be happy with their more than deserved gifts.

Kholodryzha chest 2023:

Each chest contains one of 30 items divided into 4 tiers, or an extremely rare Roshanchik courier.
Items of the same tier have the same rarity. You will not start receiving duplicate items of a particular tier until you have received all the items in that tier.
Five items of one tier can be exchanged for a random item of the next tier.
An extremely rare item is found in 1 out of 100,000 chests. The rest of the chests contain an item of one of four tiers. An item of each tier, starting with the first tier, has a 10% chance of upgrading to the next tier.
When you open a chest or exchange items, you have a 1 in 300 chance of getting an additional unusual item - either a copy of a common item you received or, if you received a set, a copy of one of the items in the set. Each rare item has one of three random special effects. Their rarity is the same.
