Hidden Mountain launches July 23 (UTC). The expansion adds a vertical Eastern Steampunk region, the Mohist Hill construction sect, the Gauntlets discipline with a Rope Dart weapon, new bosses, a DIY crafting system, mechanical vehicles for traversal, and audio and visual upgrades.

The map consists of stacked zones that range from underwater trenches and underground palaces at the base to towering peaks and floating cities near the summit. Developers and early players on the CN server report the design encourages vertical exploration; cliffs, caves and spots behind waterfalls are intended to be accessible rather than decorative.

The Mohist Hill Sect is a group of engineers who converted the mountain into a working machine filled with mechanical systems for players to find and use. It is the game’s first sect focused entirely on construction and mechanical assembly, aimed at players who prefer building and mechanical design instead of combat.

Traversal relies on existing Lightness Skills plus a set of new mechanical vehicles built to handle steep elevation changes. Players will use those vehicles to move between stacked areas and to reach concealed routes.

A DIY crafting system lets players assemble mechanical components into custom contraptions and vehicles. Creations produced through the system can be used both for traversal and for solving environmental puzzles.

The Gauntlets discipline emphasizes close-quarters combat with fast combos and strong burst damage. The Rope Dart functions as a companion weapon. New bosses follow a mechanical theme, featuring clockwork creatures; some encounters require manipulating the environment mid-fight, while others focus on aggressive attack patterns or poisoned blades.

Technical and aesthetic changes include more dynamic wind behavior that produces layered sound as wind moves through canyons and passes, updated rock textures that show wear from wind and water, and a new lighting and ray-tracing system to handle complex interior and vertical lighting scenarios.

The studio calls the update the start of “Where Winds Meet 2.0.” Hidden Mountain launches July 23 (UTC).
