Modern Warfare 4’s Kill Block spawns Desert Eagle sniper

At Fanatics Fest, Infinity Ward showed Kill Block, a modular Modern Warfare 4 map that can spawn a .50 Desert Eagle with a rifle grip for medium-range shots. The game adds a revised ballistics model and a Gunny system.

At Fanatics Fest on July 21, 2026, at the Javits Center in Manhattan, Infinity Ward publicly demonstrated Kill Block, a modular map for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. The map was shown in Gunfight mode and uses three interchangeable modules, or ‘slabs’, that are set at match start and swap every two rounds or when a player changes loadout. Some slabs recreate layouts from past maps such as Crash and Shoot House.

Infinity Ward presented two main gameplay changes during the demo: a revised ballistics model and a Gunny attachment system. The ballistics update changes bullet spread and recoil behavior to produce more natural patterns. During hands-on play, hipfire remained unreliable except for point-blank shotgun shots, and accuracy still declines when running and firing. The update reduced extreme spray behavior on some weapons, including SMGs.

Gunny automatically assembles a weapon from a player’s available attachments rather than requiring manual selection. The system is not random; it combines attachments to create a usable firearm. In the demo loadouts, some combinations were unconventional, including a .50 Desert Eagle fitted with a rifle-style grip that increased the pistol’s effective range but retained heavy recoil. Because the event used predetermined Gunfight loadouts, testers could not fully explore Gunny in longer matches or other modes.

Movement in Modern Warfare 4 remains close to recent entries in the series. There is no omnidirectional sprint or wall-running. Players can mantle, swim, slide and dive. A change allows aiming down sights while mantling to enable quicker, more precise repositioning. Mounting a weapon on cover remains a valid tactic for improving accuracy.

Kill Block’s modular layout, the revised ballistics model and the Gunny system are described by Infinity Ward as designed to produce rounds that require tactical adjustment as the map changes while keeping boots-on-the-ground gameplay. Infinity Ward plans a wider release of Modern Warfare 4 in October, and the public demonstrations emphasized refinements to weapon behavior and loadout management.
