Angels Fall First 1.0 launches with 64-player space FPS
After 11 years in development, Angels Fall First reached version 1.0, offering 64-player battles that combine infantry, ground vehicles and ships with enterable capital-ship interiors and offline bots.
Strangely Interactive released Angels Fall First version 1.0 with an introductory 10% discount through Tuesday, July 21 and full pricing to follow. The studio moved the project out of early access after more than a decade of intermittent development.
Development began years before the game’s 2015 early access launch, with the small team working evenings and weekends on the project. The title remained in early access for more than five years while the developer expanded maps, ship interiors and AI capabilities.
The 1.0 build supports multiplayer matches for up to 64 players that combine first-person infantry combat, ground vehicles and piloted spacecraft. Large capital ships include fully enterable interiors designed for boarding actions and corridor encounters.
Players can spawn in crew quarters, observe external battles from ship windows, launch in dropships, fight through defenders to enemy flagships, breach hulls and advance toward command bridges. Matches use persistent unlocks, player customization and loadout systems.
The game provides a full offline option. Robust bot support lets solo players or small groups run full matches without joining an online lobby, using the same match types available in public multiplayer.
At launch the introductory price is $16.19/£12.03 and the regular price will be $17.99/£13.37 after the discount period ends.
In a statement the developer wrote, “Angels Fall First exists because it must exist.” The team added that they began the project as fans of space combat and large-scale infantry battles and completed it over a long period with a small development group.
The 1.0 release formalizes systems built during early access and presents the game as a completed product for players seeking a hybrid of space combat and infantry-focused first-person action.
