Award-winning Caravan SandWitch launches on Android, iOS

Dear Villagers and Plug In Digital released Caravan SandWitch, developed by Studio Plane Toast, on Android and iOS after a May announcement and pre-registration.

Dear Villagers and Plug In Digital have released Caravan SandWitch, the narrative-driven sci-fi adventure from Studio Plane Toast, on Android and iOS. The game is available now on the Google Play Store and the App Store; the mobile launch followed a May announcement and a pre-registration period.

Caravan SandWitch places players in the desert world of Cigalo and emphasizes exploration and storytelling rather than combat. Players search for a missing sister while travelling in an upgradable van and using tools to reach new areas across deserts, forgotten ruins and shifting landscapes.

Gameplay centers on interactions with Cigalo’s inhabitants. Players encounter the Reinetos, an ancient native species; robots left behind after the planet’s exploitation; humans who chose to remain when others migrated away; and the SandWitch. Helping these groups with everyday problems advances relationships between communities and reveals pieces of the world’s history.

Progression ties to exploration and vehicle upgrades. Customizing the van and improving tools grants access to previously inaccessible locations. Advancement depends on scavenging, conversation and environmental puzzles rather than combat encounters.

Studio Plane Toast based Cigalo’s terrain and architecture on the landscape of Provence. The design focuses on character-driven encounters and inclusive storytelling, with tasks and dialogues intended to provide context for the planet’s social dynamics.

The title has received indie awards. The mobile release retains the core mechanics from previous platforms and adapts controls for touch input and portable play. The game features a distinct visual style and a soundtrack that supports slow-paced exploration.

Caravan SandWitch joins other narrative-focused indie games on mobile, offering players a story-first alternative to action-oriented titles.
