Cronos: Lazarus adds teleportation, new Gladius melee
Bloober Team describes Cronos: Lazarus as a more action-focused expansion, adding Teleportation, a Decoy ability and a close-quarters Gladius weapon for Fall 2026.
Bloober Team rolled out details of Cronos: Lazarus in a developer diary, describing the expansion as an action-focused follow-up to Cronos: The New Dawn. The studio positions the player as a stronger protagonist called the Pathfinder and outlines new tools and enemy encounters that change the game’s pace and combat style.
The expansion introduces Teleportation, which lets players move quickly through environments and perform flanking maneuvers, and Decoy, an ability that spawns a hologram to distract or split enemy forces. Bloober Team explains that using Decoy with mobility skills can enable stealthy takedowns or controlled offensive engagements against groups of opponents.
Lazarus also adds the Gladius, presented as an upgraded, more lethal version of the dagger available at the start of The New Dawn. The Gladius is designed for close-quarters fighting and is intended to offer higher melee lethality than the original weapon, matching the Pathfinder’s more confrontational combat options.
The developer diary frames the expansion’s narrative as a more personal thread: the Pathfinder faces the antagonistic group known as The Collective largely alone. The studio notes a larger enemy roster and encounter designs that lead toward a final confrontation.
Cronos: Lazarus is scheduled for release in Fall 2026 on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC. Bloober Team says the expansion keeps continuity with The New Dawn while providing a different, action-oriented way to play the Cronos story.
