Developer Urges Fans Not to Demand 60 FPS for GTA 6
A developer on GTA 6 warned fans not to pressure teams for a 60 FPS update, saying aggressive demands can harm communication and slow performance work.
A developer involved with Grand Theft Auto 6 cautioned players against using public pressure to demand a dedicated 60 frames-per-second update. The warning followed growing online calls for a 60 FPS patch or performance mode and was aimed at how fans interact with development teams.
The developer explained that aiming for 60 FPS requires engineering work across multiple systems. Graphics settings, physics simulation, server stability and platform-specific limits all affect frame rate. Teams must profile the game, find bottlenecks, implement optimizations and test those changes across different hardware and software configurations.
After engineers make technical changes, builds need to pass internal quality assurance and platform-holder certification before they can ship. Those processes can take weeks or months, the developer noted, and rushed changes risk introducing new bugs or regressions.
Hardware differences mean results will vary among players. Higher-end PCs and the latest consoles can often sustain higher frame rates, while older machines may remain constrained. For that reason, developers sometimes focus first on stability and fixing widespread issues before adding higher frame-rate modes.
The developer urged players to report performance problems through official channels and to provide telemetry and system data when possible. They warned that mass complaints or hostile campaigns can sour communication and may slow work on fixes and improvements.
Fans have increasingly requested performance modes for major releases, and some large titles have received post-launch performance upgrades after internal testing and platform approvals. Grand Theft Auto is a trademark of Take-Two Interactive.
