Lords Mobile players restore 310,000+ rainforest regions
Players in Lords Mobile restored more than 310,000 in-game rainforest areas during a 21-day Green Game Jam; developer IGG pledged $20,000 per 20,000 regions repaired.
Lords Mobile players and the Rainforest Alliance ran a 21-day Rebuild the Rainforest campaign as part of Green Game Jam 2026. During the event, players repaired more than 310,000 in-game rainforest regions and IGG committed to donate $20,000 for every 20,000 regions restored.
The campaign ran inside the mobile game and across IGG’s official social channels. Tasks and in-game objectives represented restoration work, and organizers tracked cumulative progress over the 21 days. The Rainforest Alliance collaborated with IGG to design the event to raise awareness of rainforest loss and impacts on species that live in tropical forests.
IGG set a donation threshold of $20,000 per 20,000 repaired regions. With players restoring over 310,000 regions, the tally reached at least 15 full donation increments, equal to a minimum of $300,000 under the pledge structure. IGG characterized the outcome as a fundraising success and called it the largest charity event in Lords Mobile’s history.
In-game content for the campaign included capybara-themed decorations and special avatar rewards for participants. The game delivered news and mail updates to players during the event that linked gameplay tasks to messages about habitat loss and wildlife.
Outside the game, IGG shared the campaign with its social media audience, which the studio says exceeds 10 million followers. The publisher promoted user-generated content and worked with creators to broaden visibility and publish progress updates and event highlights throughout the 21 days.
The Rebuild the Rainforest event followed the Rainforest Alliance’s Green Game Jam initiative, which invites developers to run in-game activities that highlight environmental themes. IGG positioned its campaign as a combined in-game and social media effort tied to a measurable charitable pledge.
