Netmarble launches RF Online Next on PC and mobile

Netmarble released RF Online Next, a free-to-play PC and mobile MMORPG with swappable Biosuits, three-dimensional land and air combat, server-wide Mining Wars and pilotable mechs.

Netmarble has released RF Online Next, a free-to-play MMORPG available on iOS, Android and PC. The title updates the RF Online franchise that first launched in 2004 and has attracted millions of players since its debut.

The game preserves the original conflict framework: three nations-Accretia, Bellato and Cora-contest control of the Holy Stone and surrounding mining fields. Server-wide Mining Wars let players fight for their chosen nation. Victorious factions can collect revenue, set marketplace taxes and gain access to an Exclusive Mining Field.

Combat in RF Online Next supports three-dimensional engagements. Players can fight on foot or engage in aerial combat, enabling tactics such as direct assaults, hit-and-run strikes from above and evasion maneuvers. The system links role choices and situational decisions to battlefield outcomes.

Characters use switchable Biosuits to change roles during play. Available suit types include Punisher, Phantom, Enforcer, Psypher, Dreadnought, Technician, Arbiter and Demolisher. Real-time suit changes are intended to allow rapid role shifts for individual players and coordinated team responses in group fights.

The game includes large mechanical units called Ultimate Gears or Sacred Weapons. Players can pilot the MAU (Mechanic Armor Unit) for a heavy frontline role, deploy the Launcher for automated targeting and detection, or summon the Animus as an offensive bio-weapon that delivers immediate damage.

RF Online Next runs on Unreal Engine 5. Netmarble offers detailed character customization for body features and equipment and has designed environments for large-scale battles. The developer markets the release as cross-platform under a free-to-play model.

Netmarble’s release retains the franchise’s nation-versus-nation and resource-driven objectives while adding modern graphics and systems, including role-swappable suits, aerial combat and pilotable mechs within server-wide competitive events tied to in-game economic rewards.
