Runeborn launches on Android with rune-spin combat

Goblinz Publishing released Runeborn on Android, a dark-fantasy roguelike from iDream Interactive that uses spinning rune columns to build decks and battle Malakar.

Goblinz Publishing has released Runeborn on Android. Developed by iDream Interactive, the dark-fantasy roguelike is available on the Google Play Store and centers on building rune decks and fighting the forces of Malakar.

Runeborn replaces traditional card draws with a spin mechanic. Players spin Rune Columns to cast spells, align matching runes across Spell Lines to damage enemies, and lock selected runes to keep combos for later spins. Progress through runs changes a player s Runebook by adding, removing and upgrading runes.

Runebooks can be modified with amulets and auras. The game includes a collection of Trinklets that introduce synergies such as extra damage, repeating rune triggers and altered elemental interactions. These items affect how runes and elements behave during combat.

The campaign uses randomized runs and a branching map. Players choose encounters and manage risk by selecting easier fights for modest coin rewards or tougher enemies, elite encounters and bosses that yield larger rewards. Coins can be spent in specialized shops encountered during runs to buy options that affect the current build.

Combat and progression emphasize varied builds and replayability through procedural maps and loot pools. The combination of slot-style spinning and deck customization creates multiple possible rune combinations, and the option to lock runes increases reliability when players pursue specific combos under pressure.

Goblinz Publishing is distributing the Android release; iDream Interactive is listed as the developer. There is no information yet on an iOS release date. The Google Play listing will serve as the primary channel for downloads and future updates.
