Where to find the Troubadour’s Lute in Mortal Shell 2
The Troubadour’s Lute sits on the small stage inside the One Legged Wolf Tavern in eastern Fainweald, near the One Legged Wolf beacon. It inflicts Confusion on multiple enemies.
The Troubadour’s Lute is located on the small stage inside the One Legged Wolf Tavern in eastern Fainweald, adjacent to the One Legged Wolf beacon. Players add the item to their inventory by interacting with the instrument; no dialogue, quest completion or dungeon access is required.
Fast travel to the One Legged Wolf beacon, walk a short distance to the tavern connected to Gragu’s questline and enter. The lute rests on the stage behind a performing NPC and can be taken immediately with a single interaction.
In combat the lute applies the Confusion status to multiple foes. Confused enemies will target their allies instead of the player’s Harbinger. If a confused foe has no valid target, it suffers severe Break Damage and becomes vulnerable to a Riposte.
Players can hold up to five casts of the lute at once. Each cast applies five seconds of Confusion; using all five casts in sequence can create up to a 25-second interval during which groups of enemies may fight one another. Casting consumes Resolve, and players can use that interval to strike with their main weapon to rebuild Resolve and extend the effect.
Sidearms in Mortal Shell 2 serve as secondary weapons to complement main weapons, offering ranged options, status effects and crowd control that main weapons may not provide. The Troubadour’s Lute provides a crowd-control option that requires no additional map or story objectives.
The lute has limited value in single-enemy encounters and is most effective when several enemies are within range and can be redirected against one another.
